GESA introduces enhanced standards for the 2025 accreditation cycle
Dubai, UAE – December 15, 2024 – The GCC education standard authority (GESA) today announced comprehensive updates to its accreditation standards, setting new benchmarks for educational quality across the region.
Key Updates
The 2025 standards represent the most significant evolution in GESA accreditation criteria since the organization's inception. These changes reflect extensive consultation with educational institutions, industry leaders, and international accreditation bodies.
Enhanced Digital Learning Standards
In response to the accelerated adoption of technology in education, the new standards include comprehensive criteria for evaluating digital learning environments, online course quality, and technology infrastructure. Institutions will be assessed on:
- Quality and accessibility of digital learning platforms
- Faculty training in online pedagogy
- Student support services for remote learners
- Cybersecurity and data protection measures
- Integration of emerging technologies (AI, VR, AR) in curriculum
Student Outcomes and Employability
The updated standards place greater emphasis on measurable student outcomes and graduate employability. Institutions must demonstrate:

Sustainability and Social Responsibility

- January 2026: Renewal applications begin using new standards
